Innovations in Cataract Surgery

Course Description

This comprehensive educational course for ophthalmologists will focus on advanced medical and surgical topics presented by a group of experienced, well-known faculty. The program will include an update on lens removal systems, effective treatment of glaucoma, current data and applications relating to anti-infective therapy and blue light and intraocular lens design.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Discuss therapeutic options for glaucoma, comparing medical, laser and surgical options
  • Ensure appropriate pre-surgical prophylaxis to maximize outcomes in cataract and refractive surgery
  • Describe new intraocular lens technologies that may mitigate the effects of UV and blue light radiation
  • Compare cataract removal systems
  • Review management options for patients with coexisting cataract and glaucoma
