Unite For Sight Second Annual International Conference "Eyes on International Collaboration: Promoting Health From Campus to Lab to Field"

Course Description

The Conference will include sessions about community health, research, epidemiology, and health economics. Sessions include a discussion about eye disease and community experiences in Tanzania and Nepal, health care for the homeless in Boston, advances in corneal transplantation, optic neuro-prevention, stem cells for retinal regeneration, safe water store in the developing world, the cost of blindness, and the role of economics in improving health outcomes.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, the learner will be able to understand barriers to vision care services for medically underserved children and adults; identify successful intervention strategies for medically underserved communities; understand leading research in ophthalmology, medicine, and health economics; and learn the visual health care situations in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and North America.
