A
three-day course will be held by the Electrophysiology Department
of Moorfields Eye Hospital, which will take place in the Clinical
Tutorial Complex. The course will be of value to clinicians
who wish either to practice in the field or expand their knowledge;
to scientists and other para-medicals who have an interest in
clinical vision science; and to technicians working in
ophthalmological or neurological electrodiagnostic units or
departments of clinical neurophysiology.
There
is an optional half-day prior to the main course, introducing the
relevant aspects of ophthalmology for non-ophthalmologists.
The
programme includes: the theoretical bases and practical
applications of the electro-oculogram, electroretinogram, pattern
electroretinogram, visual evoked cortical potential and colour
vision testing. The principals of recording, including
specialised paediatric techniques, will be discussed. All
topics will be addressed in the context of clinical application.
Practical work and demonstrations are included. This will utilise
a range of current equipment from major manufacturers.
The
course is approved by the International Society for Clinical
Electrophysiology of Vision.
