Clinical Application of Optical Coherence Technology

This course is designed to update physicians, technicians, photographers, and ophthalmic personnel on advances in OCT imaging. Using Optical Coherence Tomography to image both the retina and optic nerve can provide for a more accurate diagnosis, prognosis, and documentation of the ophthalmic patient. Lecture topics will cover the unique properties of OCT imaging and its many uses, as well as advances which promise to further expand the technology. Hands-on workshops are available for participants to learn the acquisition techniques and software advances for the Stratus Optical Coherence Tomography.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will have a better understsanding of:

  • How to interpret and aquire OCT image
  • When and how to use OCT to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of patients
  • The future developments that are being tested and how they will impact the field
  • How to more accurately image a patient for both glaucoma and retina disorders
