Full Focus Vision Correction 
This presentation will explain how implants work, who qualifies, and the benefits of the implants. 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Explain refractive/surgical options that will be relayed to the patient.

Current & Future Techniques of Cataract Surgery  
This course will discuss techniques and technology of modern cataract surgery and future technology.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Explain the history of cataract surgery.

  • Describe the instrumentation, equipment, and intraocular lenses of cataract surgery.

Diabetic Retinopathy

This will be a lecture and video review of causes of retinopathy, complications, and treatment.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Define pathogenesis and the complications of retinopathy.

  • Describe the need/frequency of evaluation, treatment

Glaucomatous Optic Neuropathy  
This presentation will be a review of glaucoma, its causes, and its treatments. The function and physiology of the optic nerve, as well as the anatomy, will also be explained.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe the optic nerve and the treatments for various types of glaucoma.

  • Explain new techniques and medicines that are available.

Corneal Stem Cell Research & Advances in Corneal Transplantation  
This course will look at the stem cell function and the role of stem cells as they relate to normal corneal function as well as following transplantation. Advancements in corneal transplant methodology will also be reviewed.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Define the function of corneal stem cells.

  • Explain how stem cells relate to the corneal transplant patient and what stem cell grafting is.

  • Describe advanced corneal transplant techniques.

Cosmetic Oculoplastic Surgery 
This presentation will review the physiology and anatomy of ocular adnexal. Also covered will be the relationship of treatments for various related diseases.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Define underlying causes of pathology.

  • Explain new therapies and treatments for oculoplastic disease.
