The Royal Hawaiian Eye Meeting

Physicians' Program

Designed for ophthalmologists, this program provides a comprehensive review of new developments in ophthalmology. Physicians participating in the daily lecture sessions will find many opportunities to advance their clinical and diagnostic skills. At the conclusion of this program, physicians should be able to:

  • Identify important ethical issues in the practice of clinical ophthalmology
  • Identify key patient safety issues in the practice of ophthalmology, and describe practical approaches for the prevention of refractive errors in cataract and refractive surgery
  • Evaluate new techniques and develop strategies for the management of cataract surgery complications
  • Describe indications, new treatment techniques and technologies for refractive surgery
  • Assess new glaucoma treatments, both medical and surgical
  • Discuss current concepts for the management of ocular dry eye, infection and inflammatory disease
  • Describe current diagnostic techniques and treatments for neuro-ophthalmic disorders encountered in the practice of comprehensive ophthalmology

Administrators Program

This program provides administrators and managerial personnel with tools and knowledge necessary for practice success, as well as timely information regarding current developments in the eye care market. Presentations will focus on practice development, human resources, reimbursement and compliance issues, and professional development for the administrator. A series of roundtable discussions will be presented on Friday, allowing attendees to participate in discussions of their choice such as coding and reimbursement, human resources, financial reporting, marketing, accounts receivable management and other topics presented during the week.

Nursing and Allied Health Program

This course is specifically designed to engage nurses and technicians in informative integrated sessions, which cover a range of clinical and technical topics related to ophthalmology.
