Description
Introduction
to Childrens Low Vision Care is a half-day course that provides
information on evaluating and prescribing for children with vision
impairments.The course features information about developmentally
appropriate assessment tools, optical devices, vision
rehabilitation services and assistive technology for children.
Upon completion of this educational activity, the learner should
have a better understanding of how to review, diagnose and provide
vision rehabilitation options for children with low vision, and
will be able to apply this knowledge in his/her medical practice.
Needs
Assessment
This
course provides information that allows a physician to meet the
needs of visually impaired children and infants. Familiarity with,
and understanding of, the options available to address functional
needs whether in the physicians office or by appropriate
referral will increase the physicians understanding of
vision rehabilitation methods and ultimately his/her ability to
provide better patient care.

Objectives
Upon
